Why to use a graphic designer? – Trust, Freedom, Save Money!!

There are many reasons to use a freelance designer. Of course a major attraction for clients is that its generally cheaper, but i think the main advantage is that you can choose the speciality of the designer you choose, whether it be technical or just the style and emotional response created by that designers work.

When people come to me i hope that that they come to me because they want my design, not just design. this is generally the case, and i proudly show my portfolio whenever i can, as it clearly demonstrates the type of style that I love. Rich tapestries of imagery. deep colors dancing.

As a freelancer i can work much closer with my clients and it feels like i can understand a part of their goals and dreams when i hear them talk so passionately about their business, just as much as you would expect from a painter talking about their relationship with paint. Its a glimpse into someones lives which we get to share, and its grounded by the fact of finding an elegant way to make the functionality of the design come forth.

anyway… i have designed for some fantastic people in my time. I am happy that my work lets me do so.

Ok – well that’s my opinion on freelancing. I am goint o cut an paste some information on freelancing i got from the internet for your information. Also here is a funny animation from YouTube about the life of a designer. its not all smooth sailing, but we do it because we love it!

Freelance Web Designer

Here is a completely unrealistic picture of a freelance web designer. Please note that I do not look like this.
It does bring up on point though. As a freelancer, I can come to you and bring my laptop so we can work in a place you feel comfortable.

The freelance web designer can monitor the amount of work that he or she must handle during any given period of time. If the freelancer is especially busy, he or she might put on the appropriate website the name and contact number for another reputable web designer. A web designer employed by a company does not have that freedom. He or she must somehow manage to develop an effective design, even at times when the company has chosen to “overload” its team of web designers. That fact extends the list of reasons why a business might choose to hire a freelancing web designer.

A business that operates on a limited budget has good reason to consider using a freelance web designer. The freelance web designer generally has the ability to lower his or her direct costs. That freelancing designer can then pass-on to clients those same low costs.

When a business plans to develop a presence on the Internet, that business must realize that the creation of a web page is not a hassle-free endeavor. A business can profit from using a freelance web designer. Such a designer does not have set working hours. He or she responds quickly to problems presented by clients, regardless of when those problems first arise.

Suppose, for example, that a business suddenly has questions about whether a planned web page should lead to the possession of high search engine rankings. The business that has hired a freelance web designer can feel free to approach that designer with those questions. A skilled freelancing designer can also answer questions about e-commerce technology and about database solutions.

Perhaps a business with an existing web page decides to develop an additional web page. Suppose that during the development of that second web page, the business suddenly sees reason to update the existing web page. By hiring a freelance web designer, a company can reduce the amount of time and paperwork that would be needed for completion of changes on the existing web page.

Perhaps a business has a web template that was once used on a now obsolete web page. Perhaps the company would like to see that template re-designed, and used in a new web page. The company that has hired a freelance web designer can feel comfortable discussing such a possibility with that freelancer.

Perhaps a business expects to have an online catalogue on its website. Perhaps a business plans to invite Internet viewers to sign-up for a service provided by that same business. A business wants to work with a web designer who can facilitate achievement of the company goals. Most companies encounter few problems when they decide to work with a freelance web designer.

Perhaps a business feels that it could profit from having a banner ad on its website. Perhaps a business thinks that those viewing its website would accept the presence of some flash animation. The executives in that business could discuss their ideas with a freelancing web designer.

Sometimes freelancers work with private groups, even single families. Freelancing designers do not shy away from tackling a special occasion website. Consider a family that hopes to provide wedding guests with a useful website, one filled with information about a couple’s future plans. That family has good reason to get in touch with a freelance web designer.

Why use a freelance web designer?

Having worked both in the corporate world and as a freelancer, I find that in most situations there are dozens of reasons why you should hire a freelance or outsourced web designer rather than using someone on staff.

Web design is not your core competency

As a small business owner, I know that it’s easy to get distracted by things that aren’t your main business because you may know a little about it. The truth is that HTML is NOT that complicated, and being the industrious person you are, you could probably throw something together. I’ve seen people try this and have their work come out OK, but what they don’t realize is that they’ve lost valuable time that they could have used to focus on their business. There’s nothing wrong with saving a little money, but the truth is that using a freelance company is well worth the investment.

Web design is what freelancers do all day

When I worked for one company, I knew their website very, very well. The difference is that as a freelancer, I get to see trends in what website owners want and get to know “the best way to do it.” That’s a great value for website owners because they can rely on my (our) expertise and judgment.

Freelancers know about a variety of products

Long ago, I gave up on “writing websites from scratch.” There are literally hundreds of pre-built solutions out there just waiting to be “pieced” together by a freelance web developer. Taking advantage of them will both reduce your TCO and increase the quality of your site because often times, these software programs thought of something you didn’t. No need to re-invent the wheel.

Your project will end some day

The biggest problem I saw my company face when I worked for someone else was that when my projects ended, they either had to re-train me for something new or let me sit and twiddle my thumbs all day. I was pretty good at finding work to do, but the truth is that it’s much easier for a company to just “stop” hiring a freelancer when a project finishes than it is to “stop” paying an employee.

Freelancers are trying to build their portfolio

Many business owners are afraid to outsource their website because they aren’t able to sit and manage the freelance company like they would their own employee. True they may need some more communication up-front in creating a statement of work, a contract and a budget. However, most businesses owners don’t realize that the freelance web designer is trying to build his own portfolio that he can be proud of, so he will natrually be willing to work extra hard to make a good site that you are happy with.

You can use CMS systems to avoid over-paying a freelancer

Another big concern about freelancers for business owners is that they don’t want to have to pay the freelance company every time they want to re-vamp their website. For these customers, we highly recommend a content management system (CMS) that allows them to make simple text edits without paying our hourly rate. If you hire us, you will only need us again if you want something major done.

Cut through your company’s red tape

Inside your company, it can seem like you need an act of congress to get something done, right? When you hire a freelance company, we do all of the work and you just need to show it to your people. You take the credit if it’s good, we take the heat if it’s bad, get it?
